A gathering on a magical barefoot jungle island on the Zambezi River,  50km up from the spectacular Victoria Falls.

On Saturday September 16th 2006, over 250,000 people in more than 200 cities & 50 nations will come together for the 10th annual EARTHDANCE ~ the Global Dance Festival for Peace

EarthDance has shown how the potent combination of music, dance, drums & technology can be harnessed for positive, humanitarian aims. For one night all around the globe, people join together to dance as one global community, united with a common vision for peace.

Now, Zambia joins the Earthdance Tribe anchoring the energy in the middle of Africa.

The blueprint for Earthdance is simple, it's a day when the world can unite through the universal platform of music and dance to affirm peace and celebrate cultural diversity.

One highlight of EarthDance is a simultaneous link-up, when every event across the world joins together for a 4-minute Prayer for Peace ~ which will be 1am  Central Africa time ~ early morning in the Australian rainforest, midnight in London, and sunrise over the Himalayas. The Prayer for Peace meditation is a profound and powerful unifying moment.

Come with a desire to create intentional community, to manifest and amplify a caring feeling for our planet and to reach out for world peace.

We bring what we want to contribute - our musical arts, our healing arts, our spiritual arts, our creative arts and crafts, our mesmerising talents or just our love.

Let's create a cosy jungle eco-village for a weekend, on the 2700km long Zambezi and join hundreds of thousands of fellow EarthDancers around the world with a focussed intent .  Come and play and dance and share your ideas and discoveries of more conscious living.

Let's take Trance Dance back to its origins....connecting body, mind and spirit with the earth through rhythm.

We envisage a celebration, to heal ourselves and the planet, to raise our own and the Earth's vibrations by dancing, sharing, loving, teaching, trading, laughing, learning, playing, growing and enjoying life and sending our healing energy to the Earth.

Global Link up

200 cities  ~  millions of people  ~  one powerful moment
Africa time: 1am Sunday morning

The Prayer for Peace is a 4 minute track
that all 200 cities will be playing simultaneously across the globe
linking the entire Earthdance community
in celebration of world harmony and peace.

Now, more than ever - we need to hold a vision of a new peaceful, loving world.

LET'S PUT OUR HANDS TOGETHER AND MAKE LIGHT WORK !

This synchronized music & lifestyle event will add an exciting new feature this year, every EarthDance event will fly the Universal Flag which represents all races and nations, and does not represent any one particular group, gender, race, religion or creed.

The white background of the flag, represents the combination of all the colors. The colors are vibrations of energy, common to all. The waves represent the ups and downs of daily life. The gold band, which encompasses this symbol, represents our Highest Teaching: Treat one another as you want to be treated.
